Yet another superb example of a traditional coloured gypsy cob with a mane to die for & loads of feather from Janice Ream's famous Twmballyn stud at Abergavenny.  She is out of Janice's mare Monica and by Apache Warrior (photos below).

Hattie is a real treasure. She is an extremely willing mare and from the moment she came to our yard in September 2010 she has been a pleasure to work with and be around.

Her temperament is second to none being gentle even with the smallest / most novice of handlers. She is fabulous to handle and has done extensive groundwork. Within her liberty and groundwork lessons she has always been eager to learn and is happy working around, over and through the most challenging of obstacles setting her up to be able to cope well with 'real life'.

She has been backed slowly & calmly according to the ethos of our Centre. She is learning fast and is soft and willing. Her lateral work is excellent as are her turns and basic movements. Her ridden work is fast catching up with her non-ridden ground work. She is also a very good ride and lead horse.

She was previously owned by a barefoot trimmer and has rock-crunching hooves that will never need shoes; she happily walks over anything!

Before she came to us Hattie bred a beautiful colt foal, Tino.

Hattie is polite and easy to be around, she has always been barefoot and bitless and is fabulous to load, in traffic and to handle alone or in groups of both adults and children. All in all Hattie would make an ideal addition to any family – she will be able to 'turn her hoof' to any discipline and with her looks and character would make any lucky new owner proud!!!

She was one of the horses chosen recently to take part in an Epona Workshop (equine assisted therapy) and played her part brilliantly.

Whoever Hattie 'chooses' will spend time getting to know her. They will have the opportunity to handle, groundwork and ride her. They will be able to ride her in the school, hack out in company and be encouraged to ride out alone. We will of course be on hand to help every step of the way, and will definitely be available to offer help after Hattie has left us.

She is an extremely healthy mare & to date has never needed veterinary or medical attention, has never shown any signs of lameness & is wormed monthly using a herbal / homeopathic combination. She thrives on a totally ‘natural’ diet of grass, herbs and / or hay with ad lib access to Himalayan salt, Redmond Rock & seaweed.   She is open to any vetting.

This exceptional mare is worth every penny of her asking price of £3,750 however, we are prepared to consider offers for the right home where she will be guaranteed to remain unclipped, barefoot & bitless with 24/7 (rugless) turnout.
